6 Absolutely Gorgeous Beach-Inspired Home Renovations

Posted by Chris Reed on Jul 1, 2018 11:02:00 AM

A lot of people choose to live in the Naples area—at least in part—because of the great beaches. And while we have an abundance of great local beaches at our disposal, it’s simply not practical to spend all of our time at the beach.  But that doesn’t mean you can’t bring a little bit of the beach home with you—and incorporate it into your home. Here’s a look at 6 absolutely gorgeous beach-inspired home renovations to provide ideas and inspiration for your home remodel.

Beach-inspired Bathroom

The master bathroom we remodeled in the Bonita Bay home is a great way to bring a bit of the feel of the beach into your home. The open design, with lots of natural light almost makes you feel as if you were outside. You can even soak in the tub and gaze out at the sky as if you were lying on the beach (and you won’t even have to apply sun-screen!).

Love the Water—But Don’t Dig the Sand?

Love the Water but dont dig the dandSometimes it’s nice to get the outside experience without actually having to leave home. And while the beach is a special place, not everyone loves getting sand in his or her shoes. One way around that is to add a lanai to your home that gives you plenty of fresh air without all the sand (or bugs!)—plus a lot of privacy and convenience (the kitchen is just a few steps away). Here’s an article about choosing the best lanai for your Naples home.

Open Things Up

Some homeowners don’t want anything to come between them and the sultry sea breezes. Here’s and example of a Great Room that opens—all the way—to the outside using folding full-length glass doors. Even if you have to close things off due to rain or wind, you’ll still have a beautiful view from inside.

A Pool House When You Prefer Privacy

A-Pool-House-When-You-Prefer-PrivacyIt’s fantastic to stroll along a deserted beach and enjoy the calming sound of the waves. But sometimes Naples beaches can get a little too crowded for that experience. Another way to bring the beach home (particularly if you already have a pool) is to build a pool house that lets’ you relax in peace and privacy.

If you’re looking for inspiration, we found more than 6,000 photos of how homeowners have added extra flair to their homes with the addition of a pool house. Click here to see examples of everything from very simple to elaborate projects.

Beach-Inspired Kitchen

This Bay Colony kitchen that we designed and built captures the spirit of the beach nicely—from the white cabinets and shutters/blinds to the sandy color of the back splash, this kitchen is bright, open, and lets in lots of natural light and Florida sunshine.

Put Some Beach in Your Bedroom

Here’s a bedroom that will inspire sweet salt-water dreams. If you have a hankering for something slightly rustic, you might like how this bedroom uses reclaimed barn wood door material for the flooring. The casual woven reed blinds add a nice warm touch, and the aqua hues in the wainscoting, ceiling, and bedspread are a nod to the ocean.

There are plenty of ways to bring the things you love about the beach into your Naples home—and leave some of the things you don’t like as much outside! We invite you to talk to one of our design team professionals to help you turn your home into everything you love about the Naples area.
