How-Much-Does-a-Master-Suite-Remodel-Cost-in-the-Naples-Area.jpgIf your home is your castle, then your master suite is certainly your inner sanctum—a very private place where you can retreat. A master suite, however, is more than just a “large bedroom with an adjoining bath.” It should be designed to allow you to focus on comfort, serenity, and relaxation. You can create this suite to suit your tastes and decorate it so that you’re supremely comfortable there.

If your Naples-area home doesn’t already have a master suite, that will probably entail adding an addition—or at perhaps removing walls to extend the space in your current bedroom. So what can you expect to pay for that kind of addition to your Naples home? Obviously, that will depend on exactly what you have done, and what kinds of materials you use in the remodeling of your room. Butt to give you at least a rough idea of what’s involved; let’s look at some figures from the “Remodeling 2017 Cost vs. Value Report (www.costvsvalue.com) that’s produced by hanleywood.com.

This report uses statistics from specific areas to arrive at their cost estimates to ensure that the information is regionally accurate. The information we’ll be looking at comes from Fort Myers—the sample area closest area to Naples. We’ll look at two examples.

Midrange Master Suite Addition: Here’s a look at how the Remodeling 2017 Cost vs. Value Report defines a midrange master suite addition:

Add a 24-by-16-foot master bedroom suite over a crawlspace. Include walk-in closet/dressing area, a freestanding soaker tub, separate 3-by-4-foot ceramic tile shower, and double-bowl vanity with solid-surface countertop. Bedroom floor is carpet; bathroom floor is ceramic tile. Painted walls, ceiling, and trim. General and spot lighting, exhaust fan; electrical wiring to code.

The report suggests that this kind of a project will cost $110,207. Specific costs will depend on a homeowner’s choice of materials and on the complexity of the job.

Upscale Master Suite Addition: As the name implies, an upscale project is more involved. Here is how the report describes an upscale addition.

Add a 32-by-20-foot master bedroom suite over a crawlspace. Bedroom: Add a spacious sleeping area with lounging/sitting area adjacent to large master bathroom. Include custom bookcases and built-in storage with millwork details; high-end gas replace with stone hearth and custom mantle; and large walk-in closet/dressing area with natural light, mirrors, and linen storage. Add French doors to exterior.

Bathroom: Include a large walk-in shower with dual-shower system, stone shower walls and floor, and custom frameless glass enclosure. Add freestanding soaker tub. Include two sinks in separate custom vanities with stone countertops and large mirrors. Create partitioned area for luxury one-piece toilet.

General: Add 5-foot-long hospitality center with bar sink, under-counter refrigerator, custom cabinetry, granite or marble countertop, and microwave. Include soundproofing, in floor heating, custom wall finishes and hardware, general and spot lighting, and lighting controls.

According to the report, this kind of addition should cost in the range of $237,233. Adding or subtracting elements will obviously impact the final price.

Of course, one of the benefits of using a design/build remodeler for your master suite creation is that you will sit down with your remodeler first to plan and design the bedroom and bathroom combination that meets your specific needs. The cost you arrive at will be based on exactly what you want to include or exclude from the project.
