Today when most people think of Park Shore they think of beachfront high-rises, Bay front villas and condominiums and luxury homes on the bay, the beach, or inland. But what we know as Park Shore wasn’t always the lap of luxury for Florida homeowners.
Back in the early 1960s this stretch of land just north of Old (Downtown) Naples was an undeveloped parcel of land that covered about a mile and a quarter of beach on the west and stretched to US 41 on the east side.
Today offers residents a variety of luxurious housing options on the beach, the bay, or inland. It didn’t “just happen,” however. It was a daunting task that involved dredging some areas, filling others, and a lot of planning. It also offers residents access for their boats from Venetian Bay through Doctors Pass all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition to great views and ocean access, Park Shore is a great place to live. Areavibes.com awards it high rankings in housing, employment, education, amenities, weather, and (low) crime rate. There is easy access to the things you want and need, including eight places to buy groceries, 20 places to get food and drink, eight coffee shops, five parks and numerous places to catch entertainment.
Surprisingly—given its great location—the median home value is 4 percent lower than in Naples itself. Still, property appreciates in the area. According to Zillow, the year-over-year appreciation rate is 14.19 percent, meaning it’s a good investment. Areavibes also ranks Park Shore as one of the best neighborhoods in Naples.
