The-Best-Fall-Events-in-Naples-Florida-2017_.jpgA lot of Naples-area residents look forward to the fall when temperatures begin to cool down just a little bit. But when it comes to things to do in the Naples area, things actually seem to heat up! Here’s a look at some of the events scheduled for around the area in the coming weeks and months.

LOCAL_ARTISTS__EXHIBITION.jpgLocal Artists’ Exhibition (August 14-September 29)

Your Choice is the Naples Art Association’s annual non-juried exhibition and provides an opportunity for Naples Art Association contributors to present their artwork to a larger audience with no jury process requirement. The exhibition is called “Your Choice” because artists decide which artwork they will exhibit and attendees decide who will receive the awards. Admission is free, and all artwork in the exhibit is for sale. For additional information, visit the Website.

COLLIER_COUNTY_S_HISTORIC_PLACES.jpgSites & Scenes: Collier County’s Historic Places (August 3–October 28)

Collier County may be known as a vacation destination because of its sandy beaches and warm winter weather, but there is a lot more to the area’s history. The Naples Depot Museum (1051 Fifth Ave. S., Naples, FL 34102) is pleased to present the Sites & Scenes: Collier County’s Historic Places exhibition. It features items from 19th Century homes to a railroad depot from the Roaring ‘20s. Set in Naples’ first passenger train station this exhibition will highlight some of the County’s most important historical landmarks, and the stories behind them. It will take visitors back to Florida’s railroading heyday and tells how technology and transportation helped Naples grow from a village of 300 souls to today’s glittering Gulf Coast resort. For more information about this free exhibit, visit www.colliermuseums.com.
